Goku has a tail. He also has a weakness. If someone grabs his tail, he loses his power. The tail and it's weakness have been discussed in the series before this particular episode. This episode made me realize I had forgotten to include this example in the blog.

People really do have tails. Not physical tails like a monkey has. The tail of a human being is made of invisible energy. The word energy really bothers some people. The tail of a human being can also be described as the projection of forces that are natural to a human being who has become strong and powerful.

Goku's tail, and it's weakness, are just like everything else in this blog. Based on real life. In real life, if you grab or interfere with a person's energy tail, they will lose power. The kung fu term for this is "they lose their ground".

The obviously means that because Goku has a tail and no one else does, that Goku is very strong because he has a very strong ground. This is a real life lesson. The stronger a human beings ground becomes, the more powerful their body becomes. A stronger ground means a human being can punch or kick with stronger force.

The physical tail of the Goku in the cartoon is just like the energy blasts blowing things up. A visual tool to teach children about something that is invisible to the naked eye. The man grabbing Goku's tail in this video is a visual example of the invisible process of "grabbing" or weakening someone's energy tail so that they lose their ability to ground themselves.

In this first video, Master Roshi is explaining the incident that happened when the bat creature first made his appearance to the world. The bat creature went to challenge a great fighter. Because the bat creature knew it could not physically beat the man, it used the Negative Thought beam on the man. Even though the man was a great fighter, he still possessed Negative Thoughts that provided fuel for the Negative Thought beam.

The fighter dying is shown in the video. What is interesting and pertinent about this is that the man's heart explodes as a result of the Negative Thought beam.

That is a real life thing. Not the Negative Thought beam. The idea that someone can kill you by manipulating your Negative Thoughts. And the idea that you will die of a heart attack if the attacker is successful.

That is completely true in real life. This is why you always see the old masters in Kung Fu movies talking about being peaceful. It is not because they are god like or anything. It is self interest. If they have negative thoughts, they are susceptible to attacks like this one.

You need to watch how the man dies when his heart explodes. Watch carefully. It will all seem normal because you are not thinking about it. Watch how the man dies and ask yourself "What exactly am I seeing". The way the heart explodes shows the body is one connected piece. This may seem trivial. Once you think about it, the possiblities will overwhelm you.

The Negative Thought beam does not affect Goku. He stand there and looks around but nothing happens. Everyone is stunned. Then the bat creature describes why the beam does not work. It does not work on an "innocent" person. Or one free of Negative Thoughts. Again, this is the reason that old master fighters always talk about peace, calmness and understanding. Not for altruistic reasons, but to make them invulnerable to an attack via Negative Thought.

Do you know about Internal and External power? I am going to be mysterious about this one. This video shows a contest between Internal and External power. It is up to you to decide which is which, and what it is that tells you which is which. It is obvious if you know what Internal and External power are.

If you do not know what Internal and External power are, or you are playing a game where you act like you know why, this video is going to frustrate you.

8 Meg Xvid MPEG 3 - Internal power Vs External power

I think I will make this next one a mystery also. This video is right after Goku is victorius against the bat creature. Goku turns around to his friends and makes the V for Victory sign. Or the peace sign if you know what a peace sign is.

A peace sign is created by curling the pinky and ring finger back into the palm. The thumb is curled back over the pinky and ring finger. The index and middle finger stick up to form a V.

Please watch this video carefully. It is only about 20 seconds long. If you are observant and thoughtful, you will learn that the peace sign is not made the way you think it is. By putting up the index and middle finger in a V sign. Those two fingers do make the V. Exactly how the body does that is what you are supposed to figure out.

I write books providing a different way of looking at the body. Instead of the complicated Anatomy View of the body, I create various simple ways of looking at the body that emphasizes one aspect or function of the human body or another.

One of these ideas is that the body is one big piece instead of separate individual connected pieces. This video demonstrates that idea.

In the video, Goku's opponent is a large bat man type creature. He is human with wings and horns on his head. Goku knocks him off of a platform so that the creature is going to fall into a pit of acid. The creature wakes up before he hits bottom, and flies back up to the platform.

The posture of the man while he is flying back up to the platform is a good example of the human body being one big connected piece. The man's arms and legs pull back in towards his body.

Depending on you, you might see a man pulling his arms and legs back into his body. Or you might see a one big connected piece human body that is pulling on the arms and legs from a point approximately in the center of the back.

If you see arms and legs pulling in, try watching the video once a week until you train yourself to see the body moving as one big piece. This is the true form of the human body. One big piece.

The bat creature described above has a special power. It can change the negative thoughts that a person has into energy with which to blast the opponent.

When you watch the video, listen to everything he says up until he says "then I convert it into an energy blast". Up to that point, everthing he says is true in real life.

At the end of the video, Master Roshi shouts "Goku! Get out of there! He is going to use your thoughts to destroy you!". This is true in real life. It is a legitimate tactic to use your opponents thoughts against him in kung fu. Actually, this is a high level technique way above learning to punch and kick people.

Provocative title for a blog on DBZ, isn't it? If you know DBZ, you should immediately think of Master Roshi when you see a title like that.

Yamcha is fighting an invisible man. Crillen has an idea to help him and sends Goku to fetch Bulma and Master Roshi. In the video, Goku has just returned with Bulma and Master Roshi.

Crillen asks them to stand in specific spots. Bulma is facing away from the fight. Master Roshi is in front of Bulma looking towards the fighters. As the fight progresses, it moves towards the spectators. When they get close enough, Crillen pulls Bulma's to down to reveal her boobs.

When Master Roshi sees Bulma's boobs, his nose starts bleeding in that famous way they do. The blood shoots up in the air and covers the invisible man. Everyone can now see the invisble man because he is covered in blood. Yamcha beats him up.

The video is very large because the end of the fight is included. I thought people might want to see the event played out.

What happens here is related to real life. Master Roshi is the highest level of martial arts attainments. His body has changed as a result. One of the properties of his body as it is now is that females or sex cause him to lose control of his power.

When Master Roshi loses control of his power, it all rushes upwards into his head. The blood gushing from his nose is a metaphor for the energy rushing out of his body and into his head.

Please note how Master Roshi's body moves when this happens. The movements are not randomly drawn cartoon movements. They are movements based on the cartoonists understanding of real world martial arts and the effects it has on people.
This post is about Episode 70. There is gap from 56 I think it is to this post. That is not a mistake. Episode 56-70 are about Goku fighting the Red Ribbon Army. Almost the entire story arc is about guns and tanks and planes and armies. The kung fu teaching is minimal.

I wanted to reiterate the genesis and purpose of this blog since it has been so long since the first post.

I was using Dragonball as a way to demonstrate martial arts concepts to people. Many people said this was foolish. DBZ was only a cartoon. None of it was real.

My position was that the cartoon was created by Asian people who understood martial arts and martial arts theory. My claim was that the Asian people incorporated their real world knowledge of martial arts and martial arts theory into the cartoon. Various parts of the cartoon are based on real life martial arts.

The doubters would have none of it. They completely refused to accept this was possible.

This blog was set up to prove my point. In all of the examples up to this point, some of which are so obvious as to seem silly to even include in the blog, the point has been proven.

There are many instances of real life martial arts principles and theory laced throughout DBZ. A person could learn some basic ideas about martial arts from DBZ. It is legitimate to use the childs cartoon Dragonball Z in order to demonstrate real world martial arts.

This entry is a perfect example. In this video, Yamcha is fighting an invisible man. The invisible man beats Yamcha for awhile. Then Yamcha realizes that the invisible man must still be making noise. Yamcha then closes his eyes and concentrates on listening for the invisible man.

This is a common idea from martial arts. At high levels of martial arts in real life, the practitioner is supposed to be able to fight other people blindfolded.

4 Meg Xvid MPEG 3 - Use Your Ears
This video clip is one of the dramatic over the top ones with lots of special effects. Goku has confronted General Blue at the pirate's underground lair. Goku hurt General Blue who is now angry. General Blue is going to use his special power which is to paralyze people with his eyes.

Of course all the special effects, the grunting and yelling etc should all be ignored. They are added to make the cartoon exciting to children. To make them understand it takes a lot of effort to use the special power.

The ability to paralyze someone is a real ability. It does not necessarily have anything to do with the eyes. A skilled martial arts person or perhaps any skilled person knowledgable about Asian philosophy can paralyze another person. It is not paralysis so much of a specific limb or area as it is an inability to move the entire body. To stand up or to walk.

This ability has a historical and cultural precedent. If you watch some old movies, they will show a strong man forcing another man to kneel down. The stronger man does this by his force of will or some other unspecified manner. This concept from movies is the same concept here.

A strong person has strong energy. A weak person is unable to withstand the pressure of the energy of a strong person. A strong person can apply their energy to the weak person and the weak person will uncontrollably kneel or fall down.

The process also happens with holy men. Instead of forcing people to kneel though, the energy of the holy man is such that the people have no choice but to kneel like they have no choice but to kneel when being forced in the other situation.

The video shows General Blue getting excited. Bulma tries to warn Goku. General Blue then paralyzes Goku

I was at a kung fu forums talking to people about kung fu. People were talking about internal and external kung fu. I like to make teaching fun or silly or a game. I posted a video clip from DBZ and I told the men that this picture displayed the idea of internal martial arts.

All of these men either laughed at me or called me names. I shrugged it off. I am used to it. I posted the video clip again, and I assurred the men I knew exactly what I was talking about. I told them that if they looked carefully, they could find an example of internal martial arts in the video clip. Again they laughed and called me names. This time they were even more rude than before. I was not really happy.

I gave them some attitude and I posted the video clip again. I told them I did not believe they knew what kung fu was. I told them they had no idea what the difference between external and internal martial arts was. I reassured them in the strongest possible terms that there was an example of internal martial arts in the video.

Again they called names and laughed. By now they were showing outright disrespect and disregard. It was like hunting season on me. I was stunned. These men, there was a forums full of them, all claiming to be kung fu men, did not know what external and internal martial arts were. What was so shocking to me was that there were 3 or 4 men I had believed when they talked about their experience and knowledge. They had convinced me they knew something about kung fu.

Even these men were laughing and calling names. I really could not believe my eyes. This forums full of adult men, many with years of experience in kung fu, could not pick out he example of internal martial arts in a video clip that was about 10 seconds long. The clip was from DBZ so you know it was simple. The clip showed Goku standing next to a river and Bulma hanging from a tree limb off the side of the cliff. That was all there was to the clip. It was not rocket science to find what I was pointing at. There were only 3 or 4 subjects to chose from. Not a one of those adult men with years experience could see it.

I posted a message in a completely shocked tone saying "You guys really don't see it do you? You are not lying to me or playing games with me? You really don't see it?". I think my tone broke through to one or two of them. One of the men who had been giving me grief repeated exactly what was in the 10 second video to prove he had viewed it. Then he said he didn't see anything.

There was a problem though. These men, so certain they were right and I was wrong, had gone and complained about me. I don't know what they said. I was posting this video and insisting is showed internal martial arts. I might have impugned their abilities. Saying they didn't know squat about kung fu if they could not look at a 10 second video clip and pick out the example of internal martial arts. They went and complained, the little girls. I got banned from the forums.

I was banned from a kung fu forums for trying to teach people about kung fu. If it wasn't so pathetic, it would be crazy. An entire forums full of big mouths talking about things they had no clue about. And they banned the person that knows about kung fu, not the troublemaking rude individuals who didn't know anything.

People are jerks. I found that almost every kung fu forums on the internet is the same way. People who don't know anything talking to each other. If you try to teach them something, some problem comes up. The ignorant always form a circle to protect themselves so I always found myself on the outside of the group of people that resented me. You really can't be nice to people or teach them things. Most of them are clueless. The ones that are not clueless? They have to hide or they will get attacked by the clueless ones. They want to talk to me, but if they do, they make a target of themselves. Then after I get banned, they are left alone with the pack of animals.

I was watching Episode 50 and came across a picture that reminded me of that situation. The picture demonstrates external and internal marrtial arts. But only if you know what you are looking at. I am posting the picture as a mystery. Can you find what is external and what is internal? Or would you be like those other people and say I don't know squat, I don't have a clue, and there is nothing in the picture about internal and external martial arts?
